100% Wood toy car making method
The first step: First make the design shape of the car. The picture below is the design of the car body. If you right-click and save this picture, it should be printed to scale. The car is six inches long and just over two inches tall.
Step 2: Tools and materials needed: 1, 8 "or more 1X4 pine boards 2, 6" 3/16 wood poles 3, counter saw 4, 1/4 "bit 5, 7/8" flat wood bit 6, 1-1/2 "hole saw band 3/16" guide bit 7, drill holes
Step 3: Make the body of the car. Cut out the pattern and trace it to a corner of the pine board. Be sure to mark axle and window holes as well. Then, clamp the wood firmly into place and cut along the tracking edge with a top saw.
Step 4: Windows and Axis. Use a 1/4 "bit to drill two shafts for the shaft, then use a 7/8" flat bit to drill out the window.
Step 5: Make the wheel. Using the rest of the 1X4 board, cut the wheels using a 1-1/2 "hole saw. Then cut the dowel rod in half so that there are two 3 "axes.
Step 6: Complete and assemble. Sand all rough edges. Then, insert the dowel pins into the wheel and tamp them down gently with a hammer until they stick out slightly from the other side, as shown in the image below. After that, you can place the axle on the car and tap the remaining wheel from the other side.
Step 7: Test and review. In particular, if the wheels are fixed, there will be no other problems, so a safe small toy car for children will be produced.
